PROJECT OVERVIEW

Impact Report Design Detroit Justice Center

I was contracted by the Detroit Justice Center (DJC) to design their 2024 Impact Report, a 24-page publication highlighting the organization’s work and impact throughout the year. I began the project after successfully pitching and presenting an initial design direction and rough draft to the organization.

As the designer, I completed the report’s complete visual direction and layout, working primarily in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, with additional photo editing and manipulation done in Photoshop. I developed a cohesive system that balanced substantial amounts of information with engaging visual storytelling, using typography, color, and different compositions to create a clear and accessible reading experience.

The project involved multiple rounds of feedback and refinement, requiring close collaboration with DJC’s Communications and Development teams to incorporate edits, respond to evolving copy and content, and meet deadlines. I worked within the organization’s existing visual identity and style guide while applying my own expertise in typography, color theory and editorial layout to strengthen the overall presentation.

This project gave me the opportunity to create a professional publication from initial concept through final delivery while navigating collaborative feedback and complex content.
